| Verizon Overcharges Sales Taxes |
I purchased two phones yesterday and one today. Stayed with Verizon only because of their coverage. Phones cost about $120 each, after signing up for 2year plan. I paid an additional $22 each (+18%) in taxes because they said they were charging it on "retail" value.
If you consider the after rebate cost I was charged (+31%) tax on each phone! Historically the government charges on income and profit, Verizon, however, jacks up the "suggested retail value" and pockets the amount of tax on a fictitious value, then assigns blame on the government.
