new contract end date for warranty replacement?

I just had my LG Dare replaced (piece of junk) because the 2nd one that I got within 16 months went dark - 5 months after I got it, supposedly brand new.

Now I'm being told that this warranty replacement was actually an upgrade and my contract date has been pushed back, so I can't get out of the contract until 2012!! What the hell?!?
