Lack of service

Have land line needed for work at home job. The line has been down 3 times in Oct. Each time the fix date was scheduled at least 7 days from the call to verizon. It has always exceeded the seven days. Service people state that they do not have enough service techs. What about all the unemployed, It is not a lack of people they could hire but good old corporate greed . As of today Oct 25th I still do not have service.
