Verizon has destroyed everything it touches. I began working for GTE in Florida in 1973. Our company was one of the best employers around. Great benefits and supervisors that were not micro-managers and tyrants. The company now merged with Bell Atlantic has virtually nothing similar with the past. Managers and craft have become dysfunctional and only press for outstanding results and sales. Everything is an extreme emergency and profitability is number one. No one in their right mind would wish to stay there nor attempt to be hired there. This seems to be the same in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
