This is not a real horror story, but one of the little irritations that have become a daily happening.
I changed my business plan to Verizon from Alltel since Alltel was bought by Verizon. I now have two plans with seven total lines. The sales guy (@ Costco no less) said that the new plans were so much better than my old one, so I agreed to switch plans. Now, as I review my new bill, I find that a number of things that worked out as free before are now charged under 'Data'. End result is that I am paying $25 more on one bill for the fun of changing to the 'New and Improved' service.
