| Mandatory $10 Data Plan for "Enhanced Multimedia Phones" |
Verizon is now requiring that users purchase a $10/mo data plan with phones equipped with a qwerty keyboard (virtual or physical), a web browser, and Rev A.
$10/mo gets you 25mb. What 25mb gets you on a 3 inch screen, I have no idea. Naturally, Verizon does not provide a tool to track data usage.
I imagine this is Verizon's method for making up revenue lost due to customers switching to the iPhone on At&T.
Why would a large company take reponsibility for their loss of market share when they can command many existing customers to fork over an extra $120/yr?

I for one want to use the phone as... A PHONE:
make calls
receive calls
send sms
receive sms
that's it.
I expect EXCELLENT voice (highest quality DSP and vocoders) and EXCELLENT reception/broadcast (antennae not designed by a room full of syphilitic monkeys)
